Godefroy Mascara Permanent Contains Applications

I am so glad I tried this product. I have very, very blonde, barely-can-see lashes. This made a big difference. It takes a bit of time the first time, but really gets faster and easier with each application.

I tried the enclosed swabs, before my disposable mascara brushes arrived. Both worked out, but as expected, the disposable brushes were quite a bit easier. Then I tried an "Inter-tooth" brush picks(available at most drug stores), that is much smaller and I have the best control over where the tint goes; I did attach a picture so you can compare the sizes.

Now, I do not follow their "current" directions of 1st brushing on the #1 step liquid (activator), then #2 step of brushing on gel (colorant) directly on the lashes. I found a link to some UK instructions that I modified: in a glass dappen dish I mix equal parts of the liquid and the gel; then apply it. It just works better for me that way, and find I use less of the products.

I also use a lipstick-like applicator of colorless lip balm to go on the eyelids and under the lower lashes, (I use this too when tinting my brows). Way more control of where that balm/petroleum gel goes; little to none on the stuff I am trying to tint! (I actually use the free baby "chapstick" I got from my dentist and keep it in the box.)

Additional Tools I Use: I also use a 1) high magnification mirror to do this work, 2) clear lipstick Chapstick Fresh Effects Lip Balm, Refreshing Mandarin, 3) glass dappen dish CLUB1 Glass Dappen Dish, 4) inter-dental brush picks for application Interdental Brush - 10 pc,(Aim) and 5) a "metal" eyelash comb Tweezerman Folding Eyelash Comb to help remove the lashes sticking together and clumping. Got to have `em all lined up before I begin.

The trick is to do one eye at a time if you are using this product on yourself. Applying the activator with the cotton swab works fine. But I used a small eyeliner/brow/eyeshadow brush (which I cleaned with soap and water each time before use) to apply the color, which instantly appears (no waiting). There are plenty of UTube videos on how to tint your eyelashes/eyebrows and I recommend viewing some of them before attemping yourself. This is a tint, not a masacara, so it does not add volume. It is intended for those of us with light colored lashes/brows. If your lashes/brows are already dark you will probably not notice a difference (same thing as if you had it done at a salon---no difference for already dark lashes). I like doing this myself as it saves money compared to having it done at the salon.

It was difficult to dye eyelashes but certainly possible (basically it was hard to get thorough yet accurate coverage with the pointy Q-tips provided; I'm sure I could modify the procedure with a couple of old mascara brushes and end up a happy monkey). It is, however, fantastic for brows. Much easier and cleaner than the typical 'mix it' kits. Just apply the developer directly to hairs with a Q-tip, then apply the color. I've been using Dylash for years but have switched to this for the simplicity and cleanliness.

I purchased this about 1 month ago. I have just used it for the second time. I love this product. I have very blonde eyelashes that you could barely see. I would never go out of the house without mascara. This makes it very difficult in the summer when I want to swim. This product worked wonders. You can acctualy see my lashes. It was a little difficult to use but once I got the hang of it, it worked out fine. They enclose cotton swabs for applicators. I used them to put vaseline around my eyes before use, but I purchased a mascara brush for the application. This makes it much easier to get all the lashes without getting it on your skin. Give it a try, you'll be amazed!

This product worked very well for me, with a few modifications to tools and procedures. A small makeup brush helped apply vaseline, a tiny "dental spiral brush" (for cleaning braces) was a perfect applicator, and a 10x magnifier mirror helped with careful application.

Although my eyes are extremely sensitive, none of the product got in my eyes or stained my skin. My eyelashes are no longer invisible! Reapplying every few weeks seems to work best.
